About this site
Thailand's adult nightlife is one of the most written-about and worst-written-about subjects in travel — mythologised by some, sensationalised by others, explained by almost nobody. This site is the explanation: adult, honest, non-explicit.
What we are
- Informational only: we describe how the scene works, what the law says, how to behave and where the risks are. We promote no venues, arrange nothing, and profit from nothing described here;
- Non-explicit by policy: the subject is adult; the treatment is documentary;
- Harm-reduction in spirit: the health, safety, alcohol safety and etiquette pages are the site's actual point.
Where we stand
The scene exists inside real lives — overwhelmingly, economic migrants working to support families (the ecosystem). Visitors who understand that move through these districts as decent guests; visitors who don't are the ones this site was written to fix. Exploitation, coercion and anything involving minors are crimes we take seriously and address directly on the recognising coercion page — full stop.
Editorial standards
- We describe patterns, economics, law and etiquette — never specific venues, prices, contacts or arrangements, and we never will;
- We write legal and historical context as general information, not legal advice, and we say so on the pages where it matters (legality);
- We update pages as our understanding improves or facts change, and we'd rather under-claim than overstate anything about a legal or safety situation that shifts with policy;
- Respectful language toward workers in this industry is not a style choice here — it's the baseline the whole site is written to.
